Students will continue working on their Logo Designs. They will take their sketches into Illustrator to complete the design. They will submit a rough draft, practice professional critiquing, and finalize their design.

Students will learn about typography and how it is applied in design. Students will learn how to create and edit text in Adobe Illustrator. Students will learn how to use the pen tool in AI to trace/ draw objects and begin working on illustrating a popular nursery rhyme. Students will learn about logos, why & how they are used in advertising and design. Students will work in pairs to create their own logos. Students will finish final projects for semester grade in PowerPoint using advanced animation and design skills. Finals are Jan 12-14 At the beginning of the new semester, students will begin learning about colors: how they are perceived and used in design. Students will also be introduced to Adobe Illustrator. Assignments: Color Wheel Color Palette/ Scheme Helpful Videos: Color Theory Videos Intro to Illustrator Illustrator Tools Vector Images Students will learn about health concerns associated with computers as well as differences between different components of a computer. Students will learn about copyright and data protection laws and different types of internet.
Presentations: History of Internet Intro to Comp Science Health Risks Assignments: Data Protection Law Research Types of internet research & presentation (class activity) Objectives: Students will become familiar with the rules and procedures in the classroom. Students will learn the basics of computers & the internet through a time line of important events.
Assignments: Turn in signed course expectations. The first week of school is about getting to know each other, classroom rules, and the course expectations. Basic Rules: 1- Mutual Respect: If you want respect, you need to give it. 2- No late work: deadlines are deadlines, most work is projects and deadlines are days or weeks in advance--there is no excuse for late work. 3- Take care of the equipment: Computers are a tool for your education, not a toy. You should not be visiting inappropriate sites at anytime.
